Academy (Trisende Academy)
Platform FeatureA personalised learning ecosystem within Trisende designed for children, parents, carers, professionals, and neurodivergent adults. Not a corporate LMS — it provides understanding, guidance, empowerment, and lifelong development through emotional learning pathways. Entry points are context-aware: child-linked, role-based, or open browse.

Adaptive Privacy Shield (APS)
Patent SystemTrisende Patent Application 3 (TSND-UK-P3). An AI-assisted real-time masking and anonymisation layer that protects vulnerable individuals during live digital communication. The APS detects faces and identifiable features in video frames and applies selective masking with sub-200ms latency. If the AI cannot process a frame in time, a fail-safe applies full-frame masking. APS processing constitutes automated biometric processing under UK GDPR Article 9 — explicit consent is required before any livestream session begins.
See also: APS, APS-Safe Handshake
Admin Command Centre
Platform FeatureThe internal Trisende administrative portal used by the platform team to manage users, carers, children, bookings, compliance, audit logs, directories, tokens, emails, and system configuration. Accessible only to verified Trisende admin accounts.
Annual Review
SEND Law & PolicyThe statutory process by which an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) must be reviewed at least once every 12 months. Schools coordinate the review with parents, the local authority, and relevant professionals. Under the Children and Families Act 2014, parents may request a review at any time. Trisende tracks upcoming annual review dates and can generate Ofsted-ready documentation.
APS
Patent SystemAbbreviation for Adaptive Privacy Shield. See Adaptive Privacy Shield.
See also: Adaptive Privacy Shield
APS-Safe Handshake
Patent SystemThe double-key validation step specific to livestream sessions where APS masking is active. Before a live video session begins, both the session initiator and the platform confirm APS consent and capability, ensuring no vulnerable individual can appear unmasked on stream.

Parents and carers can record entry types (emotional dysregulation, sensory overload, regulation success, breakthrough moments, etc.), triggers, intensity ratings, what helped, recovery duration, and personal reflections. The AI generates pattern insights from accumulated entries. Data is classified as special category health data under UK GDPR Article 9.

Document Assistant
Platform FeatureAn AI-powered tool within Trisende that processes uploaded SEND documents — EHCPs, ISPs, therapy reports, tribunal bundles — to extract key information, generate summaries, and identify provision gaps. Double-Key Handshake Protocol
Patent SystemTrisende Patent Application 2 (TSND-UK-P2). A dual-actor validation system that requires two independent stakeholders to confirm before any provision becomes active on the platform. For example, a school cannot unilaterally mark a provision as delivered — the parent (or SSOT Guardian) must also confirm. This prevents unilateral changes to a child's statutory record.
See also: SSOT, APS-Safe Handshake

EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan)
DocumentA legally binding document produced by a local authority for a child or young person aged 0–25 with SEND, who requires support beyond what schools can provide through SEN Support alone. An EHCP describes the child's needs (Sections B, C, D), the outcomes sought (Section E), and the educational, health, and social care provisions to meet those needs (Sections F, G, H1/H2). EHCPs are governed by the Children and Families Act 2014 and must be completed within a 20-week statutory timeline.

Parents can appeal if the LA refuses to assess for an EHCP, refuses to issue an EHCP, or if they disagree with the content of the plan. An appeal must be lodged within 2 months of the LA decision. Mediation must be considered (but not completed) before most appeals. Trisende's Parent Pro+ tier includes tribunal preparation tools.
See also: Mediation, EHCP

Shift Shield™
Patent SystemA proprietary scheduling protection feature within Trisende's WorkBridge™ product (Patent GB2609675.0). Social Care Worker

Sovereign Infrastructure
Data & TechnicalTrisende's term for its patent-protected, UK-sovereign platform architecture. All data is stored in the UK; all core platform logic is protected by UK patent applications. The term 'sovereign' denotes independence from non-UK data jurisdictions and external platform dependency.
Sovereign Relief Network (SRN)
Patent SystemTrisende Patent Application 5 (TSND-UK-P5). An emergency resource matching engine with privacy-preserving location fuzzing. The SRN matches relief requests to available helpers based on proximity, capability, and urgency — using spatial obfuscation and minimum disclosure principles to protect family privacy.

SSOT (Single Source of Truth)
Data & TechnicalThe architectural principle at the heart of Trisende. Every child on the platform has one authoritative record — the SSOT — to which all stakeholders (parents, schools, councils, NHS, carers) connect. Data flows from the SSOT outward; no stakeholder holds a disconnected copy. The SSOT eliminates the 'repeated explanations' problem familiar to SEND families. Each child profile is an SSOT record.

SSOT Guardian
RoleThe designated adult (typically the parent or legal guardian) who is the owner and controller of a child's SSOT record on Trisende. Only the SSOT Guardian can grant or revoke access for other stakeholders, consent to data processing, and authorise provision confirmation via the Double-Key Handshake Protocol.

Staff (Trisende Staff)
RoleMembers of the Trisende team with platform-level access. Staff accounts have elevated permissions within the Admin Command Centre and may hold commission-eligible roles tracked by the SCTS Ledger.

Statutory Transition Compiler
Patent SystemTrisende Patent Application 1 (TSND-UK-P1). The deterministic rules-based engine that transforms EHCP content into ISP format using legally-grounded mapping logic and provenance tracking. The compiler applies fixed legal-state transition rules so the same input always produces the same legally consistent output — eliminating ambiguity in the 2026 ISP migration.

Tenant
Data & TechnicalIn the context of the Trisende SSOT architecture, a tenant is an institutional stakeholder (school, council, NHS body) that has been linked to a child's SSOT record by the SSOT Guardian. Tenants can see the data they are authorised to view and can post updates to the child's longitudinal record.

Token Economy
Token & PaymentsTrisende's virtual currency system. Users purchase tokens with real money, hold them in a Wallet, and spend them on gifts during livestreams or platform features. Revenue is attributed via the SCTS Ledger (Patent P7). Token promotional balances (gifted by Trisende) are tracked separately from purchased balances.

Transition Planning
SEND Law & PolicyThe preparation for a young person with SEND moving from education into adult life. Also relevant when a child transitions between schools or phases of education.

Triple-Gate Verification
Patent SystemTrisende's three-stage verification process for all carers and specialists. Gate 1: Enhanced DBS certificate reference check. Gate 2: Biometric identity verification (document + live selfie facial comparison). Gate 3: Credential and professional registration review. All three gates must pass before a carer or specialist can appear in the public directory or accept bookings. Protected under Patent Application 5 (Sovereign Relief Network).
